FAQ
How long do repairs take?
Starting August 1, 2020 our clock repairs can take six months or more and our watch repairs can take ninety days or more.
We will call you as soon as your item is ready whenever that is.
With the COVID-19 situation continuously evolving, our repairmen have been periodically laid off and this may continue for some time. The lack of staff has created an inability to complete repairs which has caused our repair times to increase.
We ask that you refrain from calling or emailing to check on the status of repairs until six months after you've given us the okay to start your service job because we will call you as soon as your item is ready.
If you have not gotten a call, please check your voicemails because we leave a message if we can. If your voicemail is not set up or it has been more than six months email us at oldtimerclock@gmail.com with your invoice/ticket number, a description of the item, and your information so we can get you an update.
Do you do house calls?
We no longer do house calls, but if you email us, we can refer you to someone else. (click here)
Why did you change your hours?
This answer has many parts, but the two big ones are: not enough repairmen and continually expanding wait times.

PLEASE DO NOT KNOCK ON OUR DOOR WHILE WE ARE CLOSED. WE ASK YOU TO BE COURTEOUS AND COME IN DURING OUR BUSINESS HOURS.
Do I have a warranty?
For FULL SERVICE JOBS we offer a ONE-YEAR WARRANTY.
For batteries: we offer a one-year warranty on the battery (not your watch). If your watch needs a full service after a battery replacement (<1 year) the cost of the battery can be applied to the full service. This will not be applied toward; crystal replacement, stem/crown replacement, water damage, case repair, or any other repairs not related to fully servicing the watch movement.
We do NOT warranty partial service (springs, crystals, cases, minor adjustments, just to name a few)
We do NOT warranty CASE work (this includes ordered case parts, dent removal, re-glue work, and much more)
Water-Resistance is NEVER warrantied.

How do I know what my warranty is/if I still have a warranty?
We ask that you check your receipt first; however, we have records of our transactions, but our records may not match your recollections and we will only warranty what our records say in the absence of a customer receipt. We are always willing to check for you in our computer system, please contact us and give us as much information as possible.
Generally speaking, if:
You paid <$200 for a BATTERY OPERATED WATCH
You paid <$300 for a MECHANICAL WRIST WATCH
You paid <$400 for a POCKET WATCH
You paid <$75 for a BATTERY OPERATED CLOCK
You paid <$400 for a MECHANICAL CLOCK
Then there is probably not a warranty, but this is not always the case, so feel free to contact us!
Do you do appraisals?
No. We can take a look at your clock or watch and sometimes give you an estimated value of what we could potentially sell your timepiece for in our store, but WE ARE NOT CERTIFIED APPRAISERS!
What if I am dissatisfied with the service?
Please contact us if you are dissatisfied with the service of your item. (Click here)
We will do our best to resolve your issue. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT OR ALLOW SOMEONE ELSE TO DISASSEMBLE IN PART OR IN WHOLE YOUR ITEM AS THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!! (For the full policy click here)
We do our best to satisfy our customers and ask that you view our policies on warranties and refunds before requesting a refund.
